The world feels overwhelming with change and uncertainty. To hold both knowing and unknowing in a delicate, dynamic, and highly creative tension is one of the primary skills we need if we want to live with courage and wisdom in an unstable climate. We seek to find a truth by living an authentic life, holding the joys and sorrows of human existence, and translating it into an artistic language that connects us. Without the raw, undiluted expressions of art there would be little understanding of the human soul. We believe the arts, motivated by love have a power to draw us into reflection and connect the space between us.

Art for a Burning World is about exploring the power of perception. It is about discovering and shifting our perspectives. It is about new paths and possibilities. Art for a Burning World is about nurturing the creativity and imagination within us.
Art can help us survive, express ourselves, and open us to wonder. We can begin a new dialogue with ourselves and one another, break into our fears and worries, and create something meaningful together. Cultivating an awareness of our ways of perceiving the world together empowers us to shape a reality of a more inclusive society that is characterized by resilience, insight, and the preservation of our well-being.
The connecting soul work of the arts can open the door to our imaginations. We live and make art at the boundary of chaos and finding order. Join us or organize with your community for an art workshop. Discover ways of finding unity with the world, with each other and with the Spirit that sustains us.
Memories from Our Ancestors: Archetypal Shapes: Can we recover the memories of our ancestors? We create a ceremonial space where we find rootedness with our ancestors. We can connect with and acknowledge our ancestors, recognizing their resilience and the foundational role they play in our lives in an uncertain and sometimes terrifying world.
The five universal shapes have appeared in all cultures throughout time. This workshop is designed to give us a look back with wonder to sense the grand arc of creation and discover a personal visual language that connects us with our ancestors in the caravan of time. A good companion with our Art Improv.
Art Improv: In this half day workshop, participants will paint together to create a communal piece of art guided by our collective energy. This is more than a communal painting. It’s a silent dialogue between each of us and our ancestors – where the past holds space for the present, and the present honors the past. We create something together none of us could create alone. Please note that Art Improv is often paired with Memories from Our Ancestors: Archetypal Shapes Workshop.

Wonder is the origin of creativity, imagination + resilience.
If we are to love our neighbors, before doing anything else, we must see our neighbors with our imagination as well as our eyes. That is to say like artists, we must see not just their faces but the life behind and within their faces. Here it is love that is the frame we see them in.
— FREDERICK BUECHNER
Frederick Buechner beautifully articulated the profound connection between wonder, creativity, and our understanding of one another. He reminds us that truly loving our neighbors requires seeing them with our imagination, much like an artist perceives the depth behind a face. It's through this imaginative lens, framed by love, that we can truly connect.
At the heart of our work is the pursuit of truth through authentic living, embracing both the joys and sorrows of the human experience, and translating these into a universal artistic language. We believe that art, in its purest form, offers a unique window into the human soul. It is our conviction that the arts, when driven by love, possess a remarkable ability to foster reflection, ignite wonder, and bridge the distances between us.

This body of work explores how our perception of the world, and our relationships can be depicted through painting a new world together. Our Art for a Burning World: A Genesis+Art Exhibition is composed of both Communal Group Paintings from our workshops and our Collaborative Paintings.
In the Communal Group Paintings, we envision an inclusive society as a shared canvas where everyone can contribute their unique perspectives with boldness and emotion, while respecting the creativity of others. We believe that our collective humanity, like a canvas, becomes richer and more vibrant through this exchange. Art can help us transcend the barriers that divide us and foster a deeper understanding.
Our Collaborative Paintings are more than just shared artistic endeavors. We go beyond the conceptual and physically work together on the same canvas. We paint at the same time forging ideas together that neither of us could create alone. The paintings represent a quiet dialogue between each other, our ancestors, and ourselves, where the past informs the present and the present honors the past. This connection holds profound significance for us as we navigate a challenging world, drawing strength and resilience from those who came before us and those on our present journey. Interconnectedness is central to our work.
All the paintings are typically non-representational, evolving from shared ideas that emerge as we create together on the same canvas or paper. The purpose of this porous visual language is to leave art, and the reality to which it points, open to the experience and inclusion of the viewer. We trust that the viewer will continue the image and finish the thought with their own stories, questions, and imaginations.
If interested, further details about the exhibition will follow. We eagerly anticipate sharing our work with you.

May the deep blessings of earth be with us.
May the fathomless soundings of seas surge in our soul.
May boundless stretches of the universe echo in our depths,
to open us to wonder,
to strengthen us to love,
to humble us with gratitude,
that we may find ourselves in one another,
that we may lose ourselves in gladness
that we give ourselves to peace.
