Great creating Spirit, the giver of all life,
Come stand with us as we plant and nurture this tree.
We have opened the earth and prepared this soil to receive this tree.
May the life of this tree continue to be blessed as it is already a blessing.
May this tree be a symbol of our hope and a remembrance of the sacredness of all life.
May the gentle rain and sun and snow pack bring needed nourishment for these gifts to the earth.
May the birds find shelter in your branches,
and woodland animals cover from storms.
May our planting share beauty with generations to come. For Erik and Heather, Peter and Ryn, John and Ye, Heidi and Phil, Lindsay and Daniel, and Hannah and Rien. For our grandchildren, Bennett, Lilya, Elora, Ani and Wesley.
