The Color of Silence

Living in a world where the silent God never speaks, I am finding the color of earths fecundity is a way of speaking. The Color of Silence speaks volumes to us. The beauty amongst the devastation that we humans have created continues to bring hope. Not the words of long-ago dead authors, but of the beauty of the natural world around me, in the Color of Silence, I find the divine. Doctrine and dogmas of power and control cannot control the earth and what it brings forth.

Just as the Earth’s ancient patterns and pathways are undergoing seismic shifts, so too are our cultural landscapes–histories are being uncovered, outdated myths, discarded, and new, more accurate stories brought to light. What do we need to re-orient ourselves when the world we have known is coming undone, new compass points established, and new configurations are still taking shape? There are stories of changing rivers, migrating forests and creatures, blurring boundaries and edges between human and animal, geological landscapes that are revealing updated human history, and prophecies that weave our history into the land. If we can bring ourselves into the present from the past and take notice, our collective voices can bear witness to the Earth’s changing image and respond more truthfully to her evolving song of life.
